Common Interview Questions - Part 3

 Tell me about yourself?

Keeping in mind the four wild cards strategy, subtly try to change the direction of the interview in your favor. Frequently mention things that you want to get asked, maybe your recent project that you are very confident of.
Try to showcase your efforts and struggles in releasing a project or a goal.

Give hints/triggers to them to one of your success stories, so that they get to ask more about them, and you get to show off your success story.

Every other participant would talk about their skills. What will you do or say that will make you stand out? Always walk through those four wild cards.

Why us?

This is the most common type of question you might get asked in almost every interview you attend. While answering this question, always try to make the interviewer or the company feel special. You want to repeatedly answer the questions in such a way that you stand out from the rest of the candidates.

Do enough research on the company and impress them by showing how you are the best fit for them and that they are the best fit for you in the long run. Show them that you really want to grow.

Do not speak evil or negatively about any of your colleagues, past coworkers, your team members, or your previous company.

You want to work with people who are really smart like the ones in this company, and that's why you applied here.

Tell me about a problem you solved

You should prepare for this question in advance. Start with the biggest problem you have faced, let's say, in realizing a project or building an app or a website, it could be anything. And then speak about the solution, about how you overcame it. Prepare a type of report for it with all the metrics, numbers, and percentages in it. This will surprise the interviewers and make them feel that you really had put a lot of effort and work into that project.

If your project had benefited a large number of people, do mention that with an approximate measurement of how it had improved the lives of many people.

Show them how you are different from the rest but don't overdo it.
